There are different kinds of challan under section 173 Cr.Pc. I have given below a list of challan u/s 173 Cr.Pc:
- Complete Challan
- Incomplete Challan
- Interim Challan
- Untraced Challan
- Abate Challan
1. Complete Challan
It is a kind of challan completed within 14 days with all legal requirements.
2. Incomplete Challan
A kind of challan that cannot be completed within 14 days. For example, 2 accused are arrested but the remaining 2 are proclaimed offenders.
3. Interim Challan
It is a kind in which the report is not complete within 14 days and on requests of the investigation officer, 3 grace days are allowed and the total days become 17.
4. Untraced Challan
It is a kind of report in which the accused not be traced or remains unknown or mostly cases in which the accused are unknown or not nominated in the case.
5. Abate Challan
Abate challan is a kind of report in which the accused is declared dead or they died.
