Islam is the perfect and final religion in every respect. It is for all mankind. It is necessary to adopt this religion for salvation. The Muslim Ummah has been entrusted with the responsibility to make the testimony of the religion of Islam clear to the whole world through its words and deeds. Regarding this position of the Muslim Ummah, Allah says:
“And in this way, We have made you (Muslims) a better nation so that you may become a witness for all other people and our magazine may become a witness for you.”
It was not the responsibility of the first Ummahs to preach to all the nations of the world. This is the responsibility of the Muslim Ummah only. After the door of prophethood is closed, this is the prophetic task that has been entrusted to the Ummah and it has also been chosen for this purpose. As it is in the Holy Qur’an:
“He has chosen you and has not restricted your religion for you. Follow the way of your father Abraham. He has already named you Muslim, and so that the Messenger may be a witness (of religion) for you.” And be witnesses (of religion) to others.” Al-Hajj: 78
Shahadah of the true religion is the basic duty of this Ummah which it must perform in every situation. This Shahadah is both verbal and practical. For this, it is necessary to fulfill the duty of preaching and publishing the religion through more writing and jihad for the cause of Allah. Goodness is to spread and evil is to be eradicated.
In another place it is said:
“You are the best nation created for all mankind, you enjoin good and forbid evil and believe in Allah.” Aal Imran: 11
The following are the details of the duty of witnessing the truth for the Muslim Ummah.
Oral Testimony
The literal meaning of shahadah is a testimony. In general, shahadah means that a person knows what he knows with certainty about an event or thing. The meaning of verbal shahadah in the religion of Islam is this. That all the detailed orders of Islam, including the basic beliefs, should be better communicated to non-Muslims. The religion of truth should be called through speech and writing. It should be argued on the right. Criticize other religions in a serious and reasoned way and prove their invalidity. There are these instructions in the Holy Qur’an about da’wah and tabligh:
“Invite (O Prophet) to the path of your Lord with wisdom and with the best of advice, and argue with them in a good way.” Al-Nahl: 125
As if the three basic principles of Da’wa and Tabligh are wisdom, advice, and good discussion. They should not be ignored under any circumstances. The special point is that the invitation should be in the way of God. There should be no partiality with national pride, tribal bias, and disparity of color and caste, but be purely for the sake of Allah and be sincere.
Practical Testimony
The practical testimony of the religion of Islam is that the Ummah is the practical interpreter of Islam in its collective capacity. That is, is Islam on the move? It is the embodiment of Islam in beliefs and actions. In every field of life, Islamic teachings are every action and the form of falsehood through Jihad. And the end of the type.
In fact, this practical testimony is more effective than verbal. Ordinary people are more influenced by action than by knowledge and thought. In this regard, Prophet Khatam-ul-Nabieen Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam is a guide and a high standard for good Ummah. Only by adopting this, the Ummah can withdraw from its duty. امتِ مسلمہ کا منصب اور مقصد
اسلام ہر حیثیت سے کامل اور آخری دین ہے۔یہ ساری نوع انسانی کے لیے ہے۔نجات کے لیے ضروری ہے کہ اسی دین کو اختیار کیا جائے ان مخصوص حیثیات کی وجہ سے اس کی دعوت و تبلیغ کے لیے غیر معمولی اقدام کی ضرورت ہے۔امتِ مسلمہ کو یہ ذمہ داری سونپی گئی ہے کہ وہ دین ِاسلام کی گواہی اپنی قول و فعل سے سارے عالم پر واضح کر دے۔ امتِ مسلمہ کے اسی منصب کے بارے میں ارشادِالٰہی ہے :
‘‘اور اسی طرح ہم نے تم (مسلمانوں)کو بہتر امت بنایا ہے تاکہ تم دوسرے تمام لوگوں کے لیے گواہ بن جاوٗ اور ہمارا رسال تمہارے لیے گواہ بنے۔’’
پہلی امتوں پر یہ ذمہ داری نہیں تھی کہ تمام دنیا کی قوموں کو دعوتِ تبلیغ کریں۔یہ صرف امتِ مسلمہ کی ذمہ داری ہے۔ نبوت کا دروازہ بند ہونے کے بعد یہ وہ پیغمبرانہ کام ہے جو امت کو سپرد کیا گیا ہے اور اسے بھی اس مقصد کے لیے چن لیا گیا ہے۔جیسا کہ قرآن مجید میں ہے:
‘‘اس نے تمہیں منتخب کیا ہے اور تمہسرے لیے دین میں کوئی تنگی نہیں رکھی ہے اپنے باپ ابراہیم کے طریقے کی پیروی کرو،اس نے پہلے ہی تمہارا نام مسلم رکھا ہے اور اس لیے تا کہ رسول تمہارے لیے (دین کا) گواہ بنے اور تم دوسروں کے لیے (دین کے) گواہ بنو۔’’الحج:۷۸
دین حق کی شہادت اس امت کا وہ بنیادی فریضہ ہے جو اسے ہر حال میں ادا کرنا چاہیے یہ شہادت قولی بھی ہے اور عملی بھی۔ اس کے لیے زیادہ تحریر اور جہاد فی سبیل اللہ کے ذریعے دعوتِ وتبلیغ اور اشاعت دین کا فرض ادا کرنا ضروری ہے۔ نیکی پھیلانا ہے اور برائی کو مٹانا ہے۔
دوسرے مقام پر فرمایاگیا
‘‘تم ایک بہترین امت ہو جو سارے انسانوں کے لیے پیدا کی گئی ہے،تم نیکی کا حکم دیتے ہو اور برائی سے روکتے ہو اور اللہ پر یقین رکھتے ہو۔’’ آل عمران:۱۱
امتِ مسلمہ کے لیے شہادت حق کا فریضہ ادا کرنے کی تفصیلات درج ذیل ہیں۔
قولی شہادت
شہادت کے لغوی معنی گواہی کے ہیں ۔عرف عام میں شہادت اس بات کو کہتے ہیں کی آدمی کسی واقعہ یا چیز کے بارے میں جو کچھ یقین سے جانتا ہے وہ سروں کو صحیح طور پر بتا دے۔دین اسلام کی قولی شہادت کا مفہوم یہ ہے کہ غیر مسلموں کے سامنے اسلام کے بنیادی عقائد سمیت اس کے تمام تفصیلی احکامات بہتر طور پر پہنچائے جائیں۔تقریر و تحریر کے ذریعے دین حق کی دعوت دی جائے۔انسان فطرت،انسانی عقل،نفس و آفاق کے دلائل اور مسلمات کے حوالے سے دین کا حق پر استدلال کیا جائے۔دوسرے مذاہب پر سنجیدہ اور مدلل طریقے سے تنقید کر کے ان کا برسر باطل ہونا ثابت کیا جائے۔قرآن مجید میں دعوت و تبلیغ کے بارے میں یہ ہدایات موجود ہیں:
‘‘(اے نبیﷺ) اپنے رب کی راہ کی طرف حکمت کے ساتھ اور بہترین نصیحت کے ساتھ دعوت دیں اور عمدہ طریقے سے ان سے بحث و مباحثہ کریں۔’’النحل:۱۲۵
گویا دعوت و تبلیغ کے تین بنیادی اصول حکمت،نصیحت اور عمدہ مباحثہ ہیں۔ان کو کسی حال میں بھی نظر انداز نہیں کرنا چاہیے۔ خاص نکتہ یہ ہے کہ دعوت رب کی راہ میں ہو۔ قومی غرور، قبائلی تعصب اور رنگ و نسل کے تفاوت کے ساتھ کوئی جانبداری نہ ہو بلکہ خالصتاً بوجہ اللہ ہو اور مخلصانہ ہو۔
عملی شہادت
دین اسلام کی عملی شہادت یہ ہےکہ امت اپنی اجتماعی حیثیت میں اسلام کی عملی ترجمان ہو۔یعنی وہ چلتا پھرتا اسلام ہو۔عقائد و اعمال میں مجسم اسلام ہو۔زندگی کے ہر شعبے میں اسلامی تعلیمات ہر عمل ہو اور جاہد کے ذریعے باطل کی شکل اورقسم کا خاتمہ ہو۔دراصل یہ عملی شہادت قولی سے زیادہ موثر ہوتی ہے۔ عام لوگ علم و فکر سے زیادہ عمل سے متاثر ہوتے ہیں۔اس سلسلے میں نبی خاتم النبیینﷺ کا اسوہٗ حسنہ امت کے لیے رہنما اور بلند معیار بھی ہے۔صرف اسی کو اپنانے سے امت اپنے فریضے سے سبکدوش ہو سکتی ہے۔اسی پر عمل کرنے سے دنیا و آخرت میں کامیا بی و کامرانی حاصل کر سکتی ہے۔
