The Lahore High Court, Lahore announces the schedule for summer vacation for District Judiciary in Punjab. According to a notification issued by Registrar Lahore High Court the honorable Chief Justice allows 03-weeks Special Casual Leave (SCL), in two batches, to the District/ Additional District & Sessions Judges, from July 17, 2023, to August 28, 2023.
The District & Sessions Judges/Additional District & Sessions Judges may avail of 03-weeks Special Casual Leave, in tandem, during the period mentioned hereinabove.
Before proceeding on Special Casual Leave, the District & Sessions Judges, Additional District & Sessions Judges shall make a necessary delegation under Section 17(4) of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1898, if necessary.
At places where officers more than one are posted, the period of vacation shall be so adjusted that at least one officer remains at the station.
The District & Sessions Judges shall make arrangements for receipt and entertainment of Civil action(s) of emergent nature (in which an application for stay has also been moved) by a Civil Judge/ Additional District Judge or by himself during the vacation as already directed vide Notification No. 284-A II.1, dated 30.10.1996 and no suit shall be entertained by the High Court during the said vacation.
The District& Sessions Judges/ Additional District Sessions Judges shall not fix hearing (s) during the period of their special casual leave.
The District & Sessions Judges shall give due consideration to the directions conveyed thereto in terms of this Court’s Circular letter No. 54/ MIC dated 13.06.2011.
The period of Special Casual Leave shall be continuous including all public and weekly Holidays and no officer shall remain absent from the station for more than the actual period of Special Casual Leave to which he/she is entitled.
The Additional District & Sessions Judge, sub-Division Murree, District Rawalpindi shalt avail 03-weeks Special Casual Leave in the Month of January 2024 instead of August 2023 from 01.01.2024 to 21.01.2024.
The schedule of Special Casual Leave-2023 is as under:-

The District & Sessions Judges in Punjab are hereby authorized to grant 03-weeks Special Casual Leave to the Special Judicial Magistrates working under their administrative control, as per the schedule mentioned above, in the manner that their work may not suffer during the period they remain on leave and the District & Sessions Judge will also make arrangements to look after the duties of the officers who will proceed on leave.
