In 2024, the first priority is given to the child’s parents, they have to personally appear before the union council office while giving applying for a union council birth certificate.

If parents are not available or died then the first blood relative or the guardian of that newborn child can apply for a birth certificate. In the case of guardians, they have to provide a certified copy of the Court’s guardian certificate and death certificate. In cases where a child has been adopted, a Court Guardian Certificate will also be required.

Process of Obtaining Birth Certificate Union Council

If you or your child don’t have a union council birth certificate then you should immediately approach your concerned union council. While applying for a childbirth certificate from the union council you should visit their office and get the application form.

The childbirth registration is available at each union council’s office. You can read it carefully and then fill in all blanks with the relevant information. You can start with mention the name of the parents of the child, his/her birth date. Then mention the name of grandfather. Attaching a copy of the parent’s CNIC is compulsory.

Where Delay is 21 days but before 7 years

The applicant has to submit an application for reason that delay occurred. Along with this application one affidavit and hospital birth slip or where the child is studying in school then school certificate or card of child vaccination is submitted to the chairman or vice-chairman only.

One certificate from the councilor or Lambardar attesting the birth of a child is also required.

As per law after verification of birth detail, the secretary union council will enter the date of birth within the next 5 days.

Where Delay is more than 7 years

when you fail to obtain a birth certificate from the union council for more than 7 years, the document that needs to attach with will remain the same. But this time within 7 days the secretary union council will forward these documents to the assistant commissioner. After confirmation from the Assistant commissioner office entry will be made within 7 days.

During that procedure, the applicant will be asked to consult the medical superintendent in the district headquarter hospital. He will examine the child to determine his age. That superintendent will submit his report to the chairman or vice-chairman. And upon chairman order secretary will enter the date of birth in the union council.

How Overseas Pakistan Can Obtain Birth Certificate from Union Council

For Those overseas Pakistani, they can reach the Pakistani consulate within 180 days to register their childbirth in the union council. A “form S” will be provided to those applicants. Fill it and then your consulate will send a report to the concerned union council.

Birth Certificate for Adopted Child
