Critical Evaluation of the Paper
The paper has included a very broad range of topics in geology, such as economic geology-uranium deposits and groundwater; structural geology-fractures, joints, and faults; sedimentary geology-conglomerates; and geospatial technology, remote sensing, and data models. This would balance theory with practice and result in a full evaluation of the knowledge of geology. Field-based questions and numerical problems are lacking in this paper, along with environmental geology topics, which are important to be considered to gain a whole perspective of the subject. The redundancy could be eliminated from the overlapping content on fractures, joints, and faults.
Incorporating modern tools like GIS and remote sensing in the paper reflects the change in the subject of geology, but some updated content is necessary, for example, applications of machine learning in mineral exploration. Questions on water resources, especially groundwater and uranium deposits, are pertinent to managing resources, especially in Pakistan, but adding case studies or environmental impacts would have added to their depth. On the other hand, although engineering geology principles and fault identification have been well covered, practical applications such as slope stability or seismic analysis are lacking.
The paper should be improved by incorporating field-based and numerical problems, reducing overlap between related topics, and including environmental geology and recent advancements. Questions on natural hazards, climate change, or quantitative analyses would make the paper more comprehensive and aligned with contemporary geological challenges. Overall, though the paper is well-structured, these additions would strengthen its relevance and depth.
